David initially tried Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC) digital hearing aids in 2003. He found that he still had to turn up the volume on the television to a level that was uncomfortable for others. He also continued to have problems hearing in church, on the telephone, and when listening to conversations in places with a lot of background noise.
Since wearing his Element 8 hearing instruments, David can hear one-on-one and group conversations more easily.
When he recently attended a chapel service, Element’s autoMic program filtered out the background noise so he could hear the music, singer and the minister clearly and comfortably. David notes that this was never possible with his previous hearing aids.
David likes how Element reduces wind noise when he is driving in his car with the windows open or closed. He finds that he can hear passengers in his backseat much better. He also enjoys the convenience of the autoMic program which “covers and works in most situations” so he doesn’t have to make manual adjustments very often.

He appreciates how he can hear his wife the first time she speaks to him, without having to ask her to repeat conversations. His wife is thankful that the television volume is lower, especially since the volume used to be bothersome when she went to bed before him.
At a recent meeting, David was pleased that he could hear the conversation occurring around the table with eight different participants. Locating and hearing voices from different directions has been a challenge for him in the past. With the Element hearing instruments, he found he could hear everything that was said.
David is going to recommend Element hearing instruments to both his older brother and 96 year old mother.
