Unitron Hearing Introduces Conversa™
with ClearCall Kitchener, Ontario -- Unitron
Hearing,
a manufacturer of easy-to-use digital hearing solutions, will launch Conversa™ with ClearCall, a breakthrough
approach for telephone use, feedback technology, and speech intelligibility in noise, at the 15th AAA
conference in San Antonio, Texas. Conversa solves the everyday problems of people with hearing loss
by offering a unique, convenient telephone solution. Conversa also immediately reduces feedback and
diminishes background noise to provide more comfortable listening. ClearCall
– Enjoy the Telephone Again Conversa’s ClearCall technology is a breakthrough
response to the many challenges hearing aid wearers face when they use the telephone. ClearCall instantly
attacks feedback within milliseconds of telephone use and eliminates the need for a telecoil or a separate
program. People with hearing loss can finally pick up the phone and begin talking without fiddling with
switches or experiencing feedback. Instant Feedback
Cancelling Without Sacrificing Performance Unlike phase cancelling feedback
technologies that can take up to 12 seconds to respond, Conversa’s realtime feedback canceller reacts
within milliseconds, simultaneously attacking multiple feedback peaks at different frequencies without
diminishing the clarity of the speech signal. For hearing healthcare professionals, Conversa reduces
fine-tuning and fit-related remakes due to feedback and occlusion problems. For people with hearing
loss, realtime feedback canceller virtually eliminates whistling before it can be perceived, resulting
in the clearest most natural sound possible. Conversa also allows venting to be maximized, reducing
occlusion, which many hearing aid wearers complain of when speaking. ClearPath™
Technology – Hear What People Have to Say ClearPath™’s multidimensional signal
detection, adjustable noise reduction and optimized attack and release times reduce unwanted background
noise with minimal impact on important speech cues. Furthermore, ClearPath technology combines advanced
noise reduction with a vector directional system to improve speech recognition in noise. The added benefits
of ClearPath processing strategy optimizes hearing performance for all signal input levels offering
the hearing aid wearer a comfortable, natural sound in a wide variety of settings. “We
are excited about our newest digital offering, Conversa, because it is a premium product designed to
solve the everyday problems of hearing aid wearers, ” said Michael Jones, President & CEO, Unitron
Hearing. “Research reveals that telephone use, feedback, speech in background noise and occlusion continue
to be the most frequent factors that affect customer satisfaction. Conversa’s unique features result
in no fuss telephone usage, comfortable listening, and better speech intelligibility in noise. Conversa
is a solution that addresses what matters most to people with hearing loss.” Unifit™
Software Increases First-Fit Acceptance The new release of Unifit™, Unifit
5.0 for Conversa, offers a straightforward, custom fit that is proven to increase first-fit acceptance.
Unifit 5.0 for Conversa includes a new graphical interface with clear navigation and a highly intuitive,
question-driven wizard for precise customized fittings. Binaural fittings are also possible so healthcare
professionals can simultaneously compare settings for both ears. The product was designed to provide
a high level of “spontaneous acceptance” meaning clients leave a first fitting session with a positive
perception of the fitting experience, and the healthcare professional can spend more time counselling
their patients and less time on fitting adjustments and return visits. Conversa’s
additional features include sixteen channels, three listening programs, quiet mode expansion, manual
volume control, and a low battery warning. Conversa is suitable for a range of hearing losses from mild
to severe/profound, and is MLx compatible (BTE only). More information on Conversa
is available on Unitron Hearing’s public web site in the product section. About
